Assam Govt To Establish College In Each Development Block

The college will be set up with a budgetary outlay of Rs. 14.74 crore with a completion period of 24 months.

Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister of Assam, said on Wednesday that the state government will establish one college in each development block in the coming days.

He also stated that 3000 high schools in the state will be converted to senior secondary schools by 2022. Sarma stated that the state government will expand the number of universities in the state and that the administration has set a target of establishing one college in each development block to disseminate higher education across all sectors of the state's youth.

"In the wake of National Education Policy 2020, the state government has decided to implement the provisions of the policy across the state to bring about a paradigm shift in the delivery of quality education in the state. As a part of NEP 2020, 3000 high schools in the state will be upgraded to senior secondary schools within 2022," Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
