HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar has directed Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to conduct Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) in multiple languages.
These languages include English, Hindi, Assamese, Bangla, Garo, Gujarati, Kanada, Khasi, Malayalamm, Manipuri, Marathi, Mizo, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu, Tibetan and Urdu. After CBSE notified that it had dropped 17 regional languages from the test, political parties from Tamil Nadu criticized the move. He made this announcement regarding this decision in the following tweet, " CTET examination will be conducted in all Indian languages as was being conducted earlier. I have already directed @cbseindia29 to conduct the examination in all the 20 languages as was being done earlier".

The next edition of CTET examination will be conducted in the month of September covering 92 cities all over the country. The forms for CTET will be available from 22nd June 2018 and applicants can fill the applications till 19th July 2018.
