Colleges And Universities In Odisha To Reopen Today

Odisha government to resume offline sessions at state universities from Today.

With the daily reduction in COVID cases, the Odisha government has now permitted state universities to resume offline sessions, with the reopening of these educational institutions set to begin on September 20, 2021. Offline lessons will be available to first-year students in undergraduate programmes and other UG courses. Following the COVID-appropriate regulations, the state universities will initially allow only first-year UG students to join the college campus, according to the state government's rules. While students from other classes and courses will be contacted later.

Offline classes for first-year undergraduate students will commence on September 20, 2021, and will continue until further notice. Students and teaching staff will be required to observe the Standard Operating Procedures, which will be provided shortly. Students who choose to stay at home and complete their studies, on the other hand, can do so because the current standards do not require anybody to attend offline sessions.

The Higher Education Department stated in recommendations that COVID proper behaviour and respiratory etiquette would be severely enforced on campuses, while self-monitoring of health will be promoted. An isolation chamber would also be kept ready in case of an emergency. Higher education institutions have also been instructed to open dormitories for first-year students beginning September 19.

While courses for second-semester students will begin, a decision on the start of classes for first semester students in the current (2021-22) academic session will be notified soon.
