Harappa Education To See $40M In Investments
upGrad aims to strengthen its courses on soft skills and leadership through additional investment
Pramath Raj Sinha and Shreyasi Singh founded Harappa Education in 2018 to address problems of low employability and skilling. upGrad, founded in 2015 by Ronnie Screwvala, acquired Harappa in July 2022 at a valuation of $38 million. The edtech unicorn has announced an additional investment of $40 million, around Rs 323 crores, in Harappa Education, according to the media reports.
The capital will go towards creating programmes on leadership skills that cater to a wide range of working professionals at different skill levels across different sectors under its Leadership School. The investment will also include hiring talent to design, implement and market these new courses. The edtech aims to set itself apart in the industry by focusing on upskilling courses targeted at working professions in India and abroad.
