IIIT Delhi Opens M Tech (CSE & CB) Admissions
The applicants must have at least 60% in all previous degrees including 10+2.
Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi) is inviting application for the M Tech (CSE & CB) Admissions for Monsoon Session, AY 2021-2022. The candidates can apply for the program until 20th April 2021 (5:00 pm).
The eligibility criteria are as follows:
M Tech (CSE)
Both GATE and Non-GATE candidates with B Tech/BE or MCA/M Sc in CS/IT (& its allied areas) with 65% marks are eligible to apply for admission.
Additional Criteria for GATE candidates
GATE score above the qualifying marks announced by GATE in the respective year i.e. 2019/2020/2021 will be considered valid. For CSE, the 'CS' GATE paper will be considered.
Of the total 149 seats, 110 seats are reserved for the GATE students and 39 for the non-GATE students.
M Tech (CB)
M Tech (CB) program strives for rigorous training in theoretical and computational approaches (for solving real-life biological problems) and includes algorithms and programming, fundamentals of biology, genetics, bioinformatics, systems and synthetic biology, mathematical modeling, stochastic simulations, and biophysics. Some advanced and recent topics (such as computational neuroscience, single-cell biology/genomics, bio-simulations, biostatistics, machine learning, big data analytics, etc.). A total of 28 seats are available that the candidates can compete for.
1.B Tech/BE in CS/IT/Math-and-Computing, or
2.B Tech/BE in any other discipline
4.M Sc (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biophysics, Bioinformatics, Biomedical sciences)
For Points 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 the applicants must have done one computer programming course, and at least two Mathematics courses during their qualifying degree or from a recognized institution/online education portal.
The applicants must have 65% in the qualifying exam and a valid GATE score in any GATE paper that is relevant to the qualifying degree as mentioned above. The applicants must have at least 60% in all previous degrees including 10+2. Applicants who do not satisfy the above criteria will not be able to submit the application form.
IIIT-Delhi also provides relaxation to SC, ST, OBC, PWD and CW category candidates. Candidates under these categories must have 60% in the qualifying exam. They must have at least 55% in all previous degrees including 10+2.

IIIT-Delhi subscribes to the view, that a Master's degree is primarily industry-focused, though it can be used as a stepping stone for research as well. The decision whether the degree is to be pursued for skill and knowledge up-gradation, or also for building research skills should rest with the student.
