In Tune With Time

Anshu Dhanuka, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer, Kiddopia, feels that education should be practical and in tune with time. Excerpts

What has been the progress made in education and what more needs to be done?

A lot of recent changes have helped make the education sector more practical and relevant. Hope that there is continuous progress on this front. We need many more teachers for our school and technology to equip and train them.

What should be the goal of education?

The purpose of education is to educate and empower kids and not to make it competitive or to discourage them. There is a lot of pressure on kids in our school system. We see a lot of kids dropping off in higher standards, especially from the underprivileged segment. I feel that education should be practical and in tune with time. Everyone should have equal opportunities for education and should be able to learn in their own space. All kids should at least have basic knowledge of English and Maths so they can get decent jobs and take care of their families.

Can you tell us about some of your recent interventions in education?

I have successfully launched a cartoon show with Kiddopia’s mascot Captain Kidd and started a merchandise and toy line along with the same. We have delivered stellar growth and maintained ranks in spite of hard-hitting regulatory changes in the apps and gaming space.

What is your USP?

Our approach and vision have helped us stay true to our path and it has helped us create a product which is loved by kids and parents. We want to make screen time constructive for kids and we also want to make content which will be appealing to kids. This combination is tough to execute but we make sure each and every game in our app qualifies for these requirements.

What are your business expansion plans?

We plan to grow in the different verticals of the preschool kids segment. We also want to expand globally in different geographies all over the world.

How does it feel to be a part of the 40 Under 40 club?

I am overjoyed to be a part of the 40 under 40 club. It feels very rewarding and gratifying and encouraging to keep on working hard. It is a great achievement and I feel very humbled and honoured for receiving this award.
