JKBOSE To Promote Class 11 Without Exams

According to a JKBOSE statement, the decision to promote Class 11 students for the academic year 2020-21 was made owing to a lack of time for holding the next Annual (Regular) Examinations in the Kashmir Division/winter zone districts of the Jammu Division.

In both the summer and winter zones of the Jammu Division, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Secondary Education (JKBOSE) would promote Class 11 students without examinations. The Higher Secondary Class 11 examinations for the academic year 2020-21 were set to begin today, September 23, in the Kashmir Division/Winter zone districts of Jammu Division.

The students will be promoted to Class 12 based on the previous year's results, which will be announced during Covid-19. According to a JKBOSE statement, the decision to promote Class 11 students for the academic year 2020-21 was made owing to a lack of time for holding the next Annual (Regular) Examinations in Kashmir Division/winter zone districts of the Jammu Division.

Candidates promoted will be permitted to sit for the forthcoming Class 12 Regular examinations 2021 in Kashmir Division/Winter Zone regions of Jammu Division, if they are provisionally accepted in schools and have a minimum of 66 per cent (online/offline) attendance during the current academic session 2020-21.

Candidates who applied for a subject change, extra subject, or other categories will be declared pass in Class 11 in the appropriate subjects as a one-time measure. Students must, however, have passed the major tests in all obligatory courses.

“The promotion of the candidates shall be subject to the condition that if for any reason at any stage of time in future. it is found that the candidate/s was/were not eligible for appearing in 2020-21 session, the JKBOSE shall reserve the right to cancel his/her/their promotion without any prior notice,” JKBOSE said.
