Lovely Professional University (LPU) And Banaras Hindu University (BHU) Sign MoU To Collaborate On Research And Academics
Both universities to set up a formal institutional cooperation programme for research in the field of crop physiology. The MoU will enable LPU students to get summer internships at Banaras Hindu University. LPU students can also get access to BHU’s labs and research facilities. BHU students will have access to research facilities at LPU. Both the universities will collaborate to jointly offer consultancy services at the state, national and international level, in the field of agriculture and allied techniques.

Lovely Professional University (LPU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi (Department of Plant Physiology, Institute of Agricultural Sciences) to establish a formal institutional cooperation programme across academics, research and consultancy in the field of crop physiology. The MoU was signed between Dr Monika Gulati, Registrar, Lovely Professional University and Dr Neeraj Tripathi Registrar, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
Dr Monika Gulati, Registrar, Lovely Professional University said, “We are proud to partner with a prestigious university like BHU. Academic collaboration, joint research, and consultancy are the three linchpins of this partnership. It goes without saying that our students will benefit immensely from access to BHU’s resources and guidance from their faculty team. Joint research is another area where we expect to see some great results”.
The MoU offers several benefits to students of both the universities. Students of both universities can now get access to each other’s labs and research facilities. It will enable LPU students to get their summer internship at Banaras Hindu University. LPU’s PG and Ph.D. students will also benefit from the access to BHU’s faculty who can now be appointed as their Co-Advisor and vice-versa. The MoU acknowledges the modern and sophisticated equipments for research studies in the field of plant physiology and agriculture at LPU and the same will be available to PG and PhD students of BHU.
Dr Padmanabh Dwivedi, HOD Plant Physiology, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, BHU said, “LPU has made rapid strides in the field of research in the last few years. We are particularly impressed by the university’s expertise in agriculture and look forward to collaborating with LPU to offer consultancy services in agriculture and allied techniques both nationally and internationally".
As per the MoU, the two universities will also collaborate to jointly offer consultancy services at state, national and international level, in the field of agriculture and allied techniques. LPU and BHU will also take up joint research and professional commercial projects across various areas of crop physiology and agriculture. All intellectual property and results generated during such research shall be owned jointly by both the universities.
