Online Education Platforms Making Education Accessible To All

Having access to instant and comprehensive answers makes students better learners.

With the pandemic showing signs of easing and children all over the country going back to school, things are slowly going back to normal. However, students are approaching their return to school with a lot of anxiety as in the last two years, the way students learn has changed dramatically, necessitating the development of digital solutions that bridge the gap between the classroom and online learning.

With board exams around the corner, students across the country are preparing to put their best foot forward. It's a challenging scenario for students, teachers, and parents, as the major boards in India (CBSE and ICSE) have revamped the examination pattern. This is the first time the two boards will be conducting two-term examinations instead of 1 annual examination. Given the sudden shift from online classes to offline, coupled with changes in exam patterns, students have been struggling over the past few months to catch up on their curriculum, an instant support system is the need of the hour, one that is available around the clock to help students tackle their questions and uncertainties.

Students using doubt solving platforms receive not just help with their problems, but also a variety of additional benefits. For example, they learn more than one approach to answer a question, as well as other topics within the same subject. Children are naturally inquisitive. Asking questions makes them active participants in the learning process. As a result, they can retain and recall information more efficiently. Having access to instant and comprehensive answers makes them better learners.

Increasingly students, as well as their parents, are looking for online support, to learn from their peers, teachers and to clarify their doubts across subjects. Online learning has always been the pioneer of concept clarification. Unlike routine learning and writing, mobile and online education platforms allow students to learn at their own pace compared to physical classes, which may require students to constantly keep up with their classmates. Online learning takes doubt solving to another level, at a click of a button or with a snap of the phone camera, of any problem or homework topic students can have it instantly solved, with step-by-step guidance provided. This has considerably reduced pressure from parents and teachers, making students feel less stressed.

Mobile and online learning apps allow for flexibility by eliminating the need for learning to happen at a particular time and place. Mobile learning increases educational flexibility by putting instructional content such as videos, images, and other multimedia formats in the palm of your hand.

In tier 3 and 4 cities, online education has become accessible to all. Many female students used to rely on nearby tutors and teachers for their tuition. Unfortunately, the pandemic has disrupted this pattern, pushing students to seek education support online, female students found respite from this disruption in apps like Brainly in large numbers. The ease to use made Brainly an all-time favourite for girl students, making them 56 per cent of the Brainly community.

With the increase in internet penetration in India, the country has seen students and solution providers truly embracing the ‘learning anywhere, anytime’ concept of digital education in a range of formats. Traditional in-person classroom learning is complemented with new learning modalities - from live broadcasts to ‘educational influencers’ to virtual reality experiences. Learning has become a habit that is integrated into daily routines - a true lifestyle.
