PM Modi To Lay Foundation Of IIM Sambalpur's Permanent Campus
The new permanent campus of the institute will have green features with maximum utilization of renewable energy.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the permanent campus of IIM Sambalpur in Odisha through virtual mode on January 2, 2021, as per the officals.
The work on the campus will be accomplished in April 2022 and will be a fully equipped state-of-art structure with energy efficient green features based on the GRIHA' standards, said Prof Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director, IIM Sambalpur.
The new permanent campus of the institute will have green features with maximum utilization of renewable energy. The heritage and art of Odisha will also be depicted in the building design, Prof Jaiswal further added.
GRIHA is a rating tool which provides assistance to people for assessing the performance of their building against some nationally acceptable benchmarks.
Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Union Petroleum and Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and other eminent dignitaries will grace the event with their presence, he said.
The ceremony will virtually be attended by above 5000 invitees including dignitaries from the Centre, Odisha government, PSU executives, industry leaders, Directors of IITs, IIMs and IISERs, he informed.⁷
