University Of Sheffield Invites Applications For MA Landscape Architecture Course

This is a two-year conversion course for graduates who want to qualify and work as professional landscape architects

The University of Sheffield, UK is inviting applications for its MA Landscape Architecture course starting in September 2022.

Accredited by the Landscape Institute, member of the International Federation of Landscape Architect (IFLA), this is a two-year conversion course for graduates who want to qualify and work as professional landscape architects. Whether you have a background in design or not, it will help students develop the skills needed for modern landscape architectural practice.

The first year provides a thorough grounding in the design, social, technical and scientific aspects of the landscape architecture profession. Students learn about the history and theory of landscapes, tackle a broad range of design projects and develop oral and visual communications skills.

The second year gives an opportunity to specialise in landscape planning, design or management or to take a cross-cutting approach combining more than one aspect. During the final project, students work on a landscape architecture solution for a real-world site. At the end of the programme, the dissertation sees students investigate topical issues to push the limits of current knowledge, in the field of landscape architecture.

There are lectures, seminars, workshops, tutorials, critical feedback sessions, site visits and practicals.

Learning and teaching take place in lecture theatre, studios and on site.
