BBA in Sports Management program at The Sports School is a 3-year program and despite the current situation due to the pandemic, we have received numerous applications for admissions. During the lockdown, students and their parents have explored the different trajectories of career in Sports which is not limited to being an athlete or a coach anymore. Pandemic or not, sports are an integral part of our lives, and with tournaments like IPL and US Open being held during these times prove the same, hence a career in Sports is still as promising as it was previously.

Amidst this current pandemic, how do you think the sports industry will revive?

Despite the fact that our way of playing sports and life, in general, are being affected, I believe that sports have a bright chance of picking up. There will certainly be the aspect of heightened safety protocols for the foreseeable future, and since the people of our country have become more conscious of their health, participating in sports to improve fitness will grow. Once sports resume, social distancing is going to be the new norm, and athletes will undoubtedly be more cautious of their well-being. We have already resumed professional tennis training at our campus and the players have easily adapted to the new norms, keeping safety and precautions in mind.

How the courses will bridge the gap between the sports industry and business management?

Sports Management is a field that combines the best of both Management and Sports. It not only exposes students to the booming Indian Sporting Industry but will also groom them in all aspects and helps upskill their business management skills. Indian Sports Industry has seen an exceptional growth curve with corporates making an array into sporting events like IPL, ISL, Kabbadi League and the likes. With many tournaments comes the requirement for professionals who can manage the operational, financial, marketing aspect of these events, as well as grow the segment. With the introduction of various sports leagues in India and all over the world, the previously minuscule scope of opportunities has now widened and therefore there is a growing requirement for professionals working behind the screen.

How the course empowers future leaders to generate higher growth for the sports industry? By pursuing these courses will the students be able to foster their entrepreneurial skills?

With exposure to the, behind the scene work of Sports, students will be able to tackle regular managerial challenges in a more innovative way.
