THDC And IIT Roorkee Join Forces For Innovative Research And Development

This Collaboration aims to Bridge Academia and Industry, Paving the Way for a Developed India

THDC India Limited (THDC) Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, have formalised a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster collaborative research and development in the fields of Science, Engineering and Technology. This partnership, signed in October 2023, cements the commitment of both institutions to engage in a diverse range of research initiatives in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The collaboration, aimed at bridging the gap between industry and academia, seeks to address pressing issues such as Energy Conservation, Green Hydrogen, Climate Change, Bio Fuels and more. Mr. R. K. Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director of THDC, stressed that this partnership serves the vision of 'Viksit Bharat' – a developed India, by supporting fundamental and translational research.

Prof. K. K. Pant, Director of IIT Roorkee, expressed pride in this transformative partnership, highlighting the institution's dedication to fostering innovative solutions across various industries. The MoU was signed by Sh. S. K. Chauhan from THDCIL and Professor Akshay Dwivedi, Dean Sponsored Research & Industrial Consultancy, IIT, Roorkee.

THDC, known for its substantial power generation capacity and IIT Roorkee, renowned for its contributions to academia and industry, are poised to advance knowledge, innovation and collaboration to fulfil India's development vision of 'Viksit Bharat.' This collaboration holds the promise of groundbreaking advancements in research and development, bringing academia and industry into closer alignment.
