Xebia Partners With EduTennis To Support Life Skills Training Using Tennis
The program is run for school children aged 14-17 years with the help of trained coaches
Xebia, an IT consultancy company, today announced its support for EduTennis, a program that trains underprivileged children in essential life skills using the game of tennis. Xebia will support EduTennis with a series of Employee Volunteering Programs, wherein Xebia employees will offer their time, skills and mentorship to deepen the impact of the development intervention.
The partnership is part of Xebia’s policy of giving back in order to build a better society after the pandemic.
“The EduTennis program is a unique offer of using tennis games to teach 16 essential life skills,” said Shivani Singh, EduTennis coach. “We are using children’s interest in the novelty of a sport like tennis to impart valuable lessons in life skills such as critical thinking, communication, and resilience. Children can use such skills to fend off avoidable disablers in their lives, such as child marriage and being forced to drop out of school.”
