Prajapati Trivedi And Arun Pereira Join MDI

MDI, Gurgaon announced the appointment of Professor Prajapati Trivedi and Professor Arun Pereira as Distinguished Professors.

MDI Gurgaon welcomes two new faculty on its staff. Professor Prajapati Trivedi and Professor Arun Pereira have joined as Distinguished Professors at the business school and management institute.

Prof. Prajapati Trivedi is currently the Commonwealth Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for SDG Implementation. Earlier he worked as Senior Director in the Commonwealth Secretariat in London. He is a visiting Economics faculty at the Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, where he has taught various courses for the last 40 years. Currently, a Visiting International Fellow at the IBM Center for the Business of Government, Washington, DC, Prof. Trivedi has served in several key positions in the Government of India, including, Secretary to the Government of India in the Cabinet Secretariat, Prime Minister’s Office, and Chairman, National Authority Chemical Weapons Convention from 2009-2014 and Economic Adviser to the Government of India from 1992-1994. 

Prof. Trivedi Worked as a Senior Economist with the World Bank from 1995-2009 and STC Chair Professor of Public Sector Management at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (1987-1992). He received M.Sc. (Economics) from the London School of Economics in 1972 and a PhD. (Economics) from Boston University in 1985. Author of five books and several academic papers, he has worked in more than 50 countries around the world. An elected lifetime Fellow of the National Academy for Public Administration, USA, he became the first Indian to receive the International Public Administration Award by the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) in recognition of his significant contributions to the field of public administration as a scholar and practitioner. 

He was awarded the Harry Hatry Distinguished Performance Management Practice Award for 2019 in Washington, DC. This award is presented each year by the Center for Accountability and Performance (CAP), the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA). The Harry Hatry Award is presented to an individual whose outstanding teaching, education, training, and consultation in performance management has made a significant contribution to the practice of public administration.]

Prof. Arun Pereira is an MIT-Sloan International Faculty Fellow, and Emeritus Faculty at the Chaifetz School of Business, Saint Louis University, USA. Previously he was Permanent Faculty at the Indian School of Business (2008-2018), Executive Director of ISB’s Centre for Learning and Management Practice, and Tenured Faculty at Saint Louis University (1991-2008).  He is also Faculty and Teaching Coach for the International Teachers Programme (ITP) at INSEAD Fontainebleau, France (ongoing presently), London Business School, UK, 2019-21; IAE-Aix Marseille, France, 2017-18; and CEIBS, Shanghai and Beijing, China, 2015-16. 

Arun has over 30 years of teaching experience in the US, Europe, and Asia. He has published extensively and is the recipient of multiple teaching awards, both at ISB-Hyderabad, India and at the Boeing Institute of International Business, Saint Louis University, USA.
