STTAR Launches National Teachers' Olympiad
STTAR announces National Teachers' Olympiad on 9 and 10 December to recognise and elevate teaching excellence
The Saamarthya Teachers Training Academy of Research (STTAR) has unveiled the National Teachers' Olympiad, to honour India's outstanding teaching talent.
An online test is being conducted for educators across the country, evaluating their English and Hindi teaching skills and is open to in-service teachers, aspiring educators and education influencers. This inclusive approach helps educators understand their strengths and weaknesses, enhancing their instruction abilities. It ensures a level playing field for all educators and participation in both days improves their chances of higher rank.
The Indian education system, with over 14.89 lakh schools and 95 lakh teachers, is facing a rapidly evolving landscape of Industry 4.0. To ensure uniform growth and enhanced learning outcomes, educators must constantly evolve by assessing their capabilities and embracing the latest tools and methodologies.
The National Teachers' Olympiad offers cash prizes, an All India Rank and career growth opportunities for top-ranking participants. The highest achiever receives Rs 4,00,000, while second and third rank holders receive Rs 2,00,000 and Rs 1,00,000 respectively. The top 20 All India Rank holders receive Rs 25,000 each, while the top 200 and 500 rank holders receive Rs 2,000 and Rs 1,000 respectively. Participants also receive an All India Rank, a personalised competency report and a rank improvement plan.
The National Teachers' Olympiad honours the contributions of India's teachers, allowing them to showcase their talent and gain recognition. This initiative demonstrates India's commitment to promoting teaching excellence and making it a global leader in education and knowledge dissemination”, Sushma Raturi, Member Secretary, Academic Council, STTAR, said.
